At UTAMU Coffee'n Pastries, our mission is clear: we want to bring people together through our shared passion for coffee and pastries, drawing from diverse cultures to create something truly unique and special.

Established in 2023, UTAMU is a blend of the rich coffee culture of East Africa and the sophisticated elegance of Western EU pastries. Our founders, having roots in both continents, aimed to create a space that celebrates diversity, creativity, and connection.

Our menu is a testament to our commitment to quality and variety. From the traditional Rwandan beignets called Amandazi, to our unique UTAMU cookies made with a mix of dark and white chocolate chips and Rwandan red peanuts, we offer a taste of the world in every bite.

UTAMU's Ethical and Quality Coffee Journey

At UTAMU we also care about Ethics, Quality and Community. Our beans, sourced primarily from Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya, reflect our commitment to trade fairness, ethics, and unmatched quality.

  1. Ethics: By partnering directly with roasters who buy straight from the source, we ensure coffee farmers receive fair compensation for their hard work, bypassing traders and middlemen.

  2. Quality: The direct purchasing model grants us access to the finest quality coffee, right from the farmers themselves.

Coffee Guide

Our go-to espresso blend is the seasonal mix roasted up by OR Coffee. It's an organic blend of washed and natural arabica coffees with always a solid 40% Ethiopian coffee.

HEADS UP: We can get packed during peak times, and you might have to wait a bit longer than usual. We're doing our best to keep things moving quickly, but we're also super committed to keeping our quality top-notch. Thanks in advance for your understanding!

ESPRESSO: Just a tiny but mighty cup of coffee brewed in 23/29 seconds
DOUBLE ESPRESSO: A strong cup of coffee, but make it double, brewed in 23/29 seconds
AFRICANO LATTE: A big ol' cup of steamed milk and just a touch of foam with a single/double shot of espresso and a hint of African spices
CAPPUCCINO: Single shot of espresso mixed with steamed milk and a nice thick layer of foam
FLAT WHITE: A small yet strong latte with a double shot and just a bit of foam
LATTE MACCHIATO: A glass of milk with a thick layer of foam and a shot of espresso dropped on top
AMERICANO: A single or double espresso with hot water
ICED COFFEE: A double espresso blended with ice cubes
ICED CAPPUCCINO: An iced coffee with cold milk foam on top
FILTER COFFEE: Single origin Specialty Coffee brewed by percolation using a V60 or Chemex
SIZES: Want it stronger? Add an extra shot. Prefer it more mild and milky? Don't.
